Services

I am available to provide consulting and archival management services.

Needs Assessment: An initial consultation that determines the types and level of archival or heritage management services that could be undertaken. This typically involves an interview to flesh out ideas and a brief facilities tour to gain insight into types and status of materials or current practices.

Material Survey: A basic inventory of records and other materials that relate to the organization’s history. The resulting survey will provide the client with an understanding of what historic materials are currently being held by the organization and their physical location(s), and be a foundation for the preparation of recommendations or a further needs assessment.

Archive Development: The creation of a formal and permanent repository for the organization. Materials will be organized and typically re-housed into acid-free archival containers that will preserve the materials for the long-term. The development of a permanent archive will typically also include the creation of an electronic database to provide access and control over the material.

Heritage Preservation: Assistance and support in expanding the use of the organization’s history to support an anniversary or marketing material or campaign. Other projects can include an oral history or the assistance in conducting research or support of literature related to the organization.
